Glentrammon Recreation Ground (Bromley)
Brief Description
The 1st edition OS map of 1867 shows the area as farmland and it continued to be in use as such until housing was built in the C20th. The area was called Glentrammon Park until 1887 when the land was purchased for housing, built in 1909. The park, bordered by hedges and small trees, is divided into two fields, the boundary between them possibly a relict field boundary with shrubs and small trees. The park has the best views of surrounding countryside in the borough.

Full Site Description
The main entrances of the recreation ground are in Glentrammon Road with a small entrance part way up Steep Close. The area to the south is at a higher level and is given over to sports pitches including a hard area for basketball. To the north of the field boundary the mown grass slopes down to the north and there are good views of the countryside to the west. A children’s playground is situated in the northern half, near to the field boundary. Some of the grass on the western side near to Steep Close is left uncut until late August.
The park is now managed by idverde UK, which in June 2015 was contracted by Bromley Council for the management of the borough's parks, green spaces and countryside service, a relationship that was extended in April 2019 for a further 16 years.
