Garden Details
Rosmead Garden
The Garden
This garden was made famous in the 1999 film Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts; the couple climbed a fence to sneak into the private communal gardens at night. It is part of the Ladbroke Estate, which also includes Arundel Gardens and St John’s Gardens - see ladbrokeassociation.org for more details about the Estate. In 1823, prominent London architect Thomas Allason planned out these generous communal gardens. They were organised in a concentric layout of crescents; the outer crescents date from the 1860s.Regretfully, due to the entry to this garden via steep steps, it is not accessible to wheelchair users.
