Stanley Crescent Garden, built between 1841 and 1860s, luckily retains its early Victorian paths, railings and character. Three large, open lawns are bordered by shrubberies and many old, rare and protected trees, and are separated by gravel paths including a broad one, terminating at the gated entrances onto Ladbroke Gardens to the north and Kensington Park Gardens to the south. A large mid 19th century urn stands at the centre of the garden. Large beds with evergreens fill the triangles formed by paths, and contain a spectacular array of species of both shrubs and perennials.
A peaceful woodland garden in the heart of the historic Ladbroke Estate, the quiet disturbed only by birdsong and the bells of St John's, Notting Hill.
This garden is part of the Ladbroke Estate and featured in the film 'Notting Hill'. Thomas Allason's plan of 1823 allowed for generous communal gardens, organised in a concentric layout of crescents.
Award-winning long, rectangular garden with a beautiful woodland area, wildflowers at the east end, a rose garden at the west end and a long herbaceous border. There is also a children's play area and maze.
