Starting at 5.30pm (BST), join us for 90 minutes of discovery, and available on demand afterwards. We’ll explore London’s formal squares, historic allotments and award-winning community spaces and wonder at the breath-taking rooftop gardens.
The exciting programme (more details to be announced*) will be presented live from a London studio with interactive fun for all the family. Beautifully shot film will also give ticket-holders the opportunity to go ‘virtually’ through the gates of some of London’s finest and most interesting hidden gardens. You will also hear the stories of some of the people that enjoy them and are responsible for maintaining them.
Sarah Greene to present London Open Gardens
We are delighted to announce that TV presenter and actress Sarah Greene, a keen inner-city gardener herself, will be presenting our very first live, virtual and interactive London Open Gardens on Saturday 12 June.
Sarah has worked in every single TV genre and for every channel. Blue Peter, Saturday Superstore, Going Live!… She has a long-held passion for all things horticultural and has written for the Royal Horticultural Society. Having won several TV awards, she’s prouder still of her First Prize RHS rosette for her very own fig jam and her biodiversity design idea featured on The Tree of Knowledge at The Chelsea Flower Show.
Her garden and her veg plot have remained her ‘escape’ – what she does when she’s not working.
Join Sarah and go virtually ‘through the gates’ to some of London’s most inspirational, normally private green spaces and enjoy, live from a London studio, 90 minutes of interactive fun with a quiz, competition and guest interviews.
Book your Tickets here to join Sarah Greene.
About this Virtual Event
The London Open Gardens virtual event is the annual fundraiser for the London Gardens Trust – replacing Open Garden Squares Weekend during the pandemic. Our mission is to celebrate the best of London’s historic landscapes, grow London’s love of outdoors and protect these vital spaces for the benefit of everyone. Purchasing your ticket enables us to continue that work.
Early Bird Tickets for £8 per device are available now. To find out more about how the event will work, we have prepared some frequently asked questions. Ticket-buyers will also have the opportunity to watch the event on demand for at least a month afterwards.
Gift Tickets available
You can buy additional tickets as gifts so friends and relatives can watch the show with you and send them on with a personalised message to your loved ones. All you need to do is buy a ticket in the normal way, when you receive the confirmation email press the special gifting link to forward the ticket to your chosen recipient with your personal message.
To give this experience, opening up London’s beautiful green spaces, to people who can’t get to parks and gardens or horticultural apprentices please consider buying a Donor Ticket too. If you feel able to, we would love you to buy a Donor Ticket or two – the Trust will be handing these additional tickets to a number of charities reaching these disadvantaged audiences as part our contribution to the pandemic recovery.
