About the gardens
Aga Khan Centre (AKC) in King's Cross comprises six Islamic Gardens showcasing the diversity of Muslim cultures while celebrating classic Islamic garden design. They form part of a conceptual ribbon pathway of Islamic-inspired gardens in this area: two private ones at Victoria Hall; and two in the public realm, namely Lewis Cubitt Square and Jellicoe Gardens. The AKC gardens range from contemplative courtyards inspired by Andalusia and loggias inspired by the Middle East, to rooftop spaces inspired by South and Central Asia. The centre is home to the Aga Khan Foundation UK, Aga Khan University - Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations, and The Institute of Ismaili Studies. All are founded by His Highness the Aga Khan. There is also a new Art Gallery with a changing exhibition programme.
