Caledonian Park
The Garden
This vibrant community park boasts a historic clock tower, formal gardens, orchard and wildflower meadow, woodland walks, outdoor amphitheatre, wildlife pond, children's play area and café. The park will be showcasing community activities for LOG 2025, including gardening and wildlife management, knit-natter, the edible park project, and art, murals and sculptures. There will also be an exhibition of local art and photography inspired by the park, and a limited number of pre-booked clock tower tours will be available.(Chair) Miriam Ashwell: Caledonian Park Friends Group

- Tours of the herb gardens at 11.30am and 1.30pm on Sunday (TBC).
- Gardener-guided tours of the formal gardens, orchard and wildlife pond available on demand throughout the weekend.
- Tours of the historic clock tower will be available, led by local volunteers including some of the clock winders. These must be booked in advance - please contact friends@caledonianparkfriendsgroup.org for sign-up details and tour times.
- Exhibition of local art and photography inspired by the park.
- Knit Natter group will be celebrating Knit in Public weekend both afternoons from 12-3pm. They will showcase their work, with a timed challenge available daily.
- Local community organisations will exhibit their activities and wares.
- Friends fundraising stall with bags, mugs, tea-towels and history booklets available for purchase.
- Virtual fairies and dinosaurs hunt for PokemonGo-style creatures, plus try family-friendly trails and quizzes with the park app LoveExploring (activities require a smartphone).
The park has a café serving hot and cold food and drink and ice cream, and there are accessible toilets available.
Many of the pathways and gardens are wheelchair accessible including some woodland pathways, though there are also some fine-gravelled areas, some grass, uneven ground and some cobblestones. Dogs are welcome in the park (please ask if you would like to take your dog along on a walking tour and be prepared to keep it on a short lead).- Picnics allowed.

- Disabled toilets and automatic doors to café and centre. Roadways around main field and woodland, but there are uneven areas and some gravel. Formal gardens have grassed access. Wheelchair-accessible grit paths through woodland and pond viewing area.
