Garden Details
Inner Temple Garden
The Garden
Cultivated since 1195, deep herbaceous borders envelop this garden with a vibrant display of unusual plants alongside firm favourites such as foxgloves, alliums, and sweet rocket for June. The Garden is famed for its experimental planting and focus on biodiversity, with wildflower meadows buzzing, making you forget you're in the City. In addition to specimen trees, some approaching 300 years old, visitors will find creative pot displays and a timber greenhouse which houses a succulent and cacti collection.
The south of the Garden, a regal Broadwalk with an avenue of historic London Planes, offers unrivalled views of the Thames including the South Bank and Big Ben. The Garden was once home to the RHS Spring Flower Show (now the Chelsea Flower Show) when the King and Queen would come to the Garden to see the displays. The horticultural legacy of the Garden lives on.
Whilst here, one can also visit Middle Temple Garden and the Master's Garden, both a few minutes’ walk away, and enjoy the historic Temple conservation area.
