Quarry Park (Sutton)
Brief Description
The site was formerly part of Chalk Pit Field in East Cheam Manor Estate in c.1750. Quarry Park was laid out as a public park after the death in 1932 of Mrs Seears of Quarry Rise, but is probably little changed from the time of the Seears' ownership. The 1st edition OS Map of 1867 shows the quarry but no house or gardens to the north bordering Love Lane.

Full Site Description
The Seears are also commemorated in Seear's Park (q.v.). The park is a relatively flat grassed area circumvented by a sinuous path. The sides of the quarry are both grassed and planted with shrubs and ornamental trees, including some within the grass area. A number of trees from the grounds of the original house still survive in surrounding private gardens. The park has railings and gates fitted with finials that are of similar style to those at Rosehill Park West and Cuddington Recreation Ground (q.v.).
